Playtime shortlisted for 3 PRCA Dare Awards

The Playtime team has been celebrating this week after being shortlisted for three awards in the PRCA Dare Awards.

Our UK launch campaign for Worlds Apart’s SelfieMic product is a finalist in the Media Relations category, as is our collaboration with markettiers on the National Hugging Day campaign for BBC Worldwide’s Hey Duggee brand. Playtime is also shortlisted for Small Agency of the Year in the awards which celebrate campaigns, agencies and individuals in the South East and East Anglia region.

Posh Paws chooses Playtime

The UK’s leading plush toy manufacturer, Posh Paws International, has hired specialist toy PR agency, Playtime PR, to handle all its UK PR activity on an ongoing basis.

Working closely with Marketing and Brand Director, Lauren Shipman, Playtime will be responsible for driving awareness of Posh Paws’ Disney plush ranges including some of Disney’s most loved characters, as well as the collectable craze Tsum Tsum and collections for event films such as Cars 3, Despicable Me 3, Star Wars and Marvel. The agency is also working on wider category PR ideas to strengthen the profile of plush toys in the UK and will support key project launches and new licenses for 2018.

“We’re really looking forward to working with Playtime PR across our all of our ranges,” comments Posh Paws’ Marketing and Brand Director, Lauren Shipman, “We have some exciting marketing initiatives planned for this year which I know Playtime can amplify with their creative thinking for mainstream exposure. In addition, we have an incredibly strong portfolio of product to support with even more proactive PR this year, particularly around event film and our Disney licences.”

Playtime PR’s Managing Director, Lesley Singleton, adds, “Posh Paws is a brilliant company, known for high quality plush and working with best-in-class brands – we can’t wait to get our hands on it! Lauren has been really receptive to our ideas, which stretch far beyond a simple press office function. As much as our work with Posh Paws will be about supporting the key lines and driving consumer awareness of specific characters and licences, we can’t wait to do an even bigger job on the whole category this year, ensuring that plush is relevant and front of mind for both consumers and retailers alike.”

Outdoor Playtime Awards 2015

The Outdoor Playtime Awards 2015 are now open for entry. The ten winning toys will be revealed ahead of the school summer holidays.

One winner in each of the specially created categories will make it onto the must-have list of ten products to guarantee an action-packed summer of outdoor playtime fun. The categories are:

·         Climbing & Adventure

·         Sport & Splash Fun

·         Outdoor ‘Board’ Games

·         Outdoor Tech Toys

·         Ride-On

“These are the only awards dedicated purely to applauding the toys which get our kids up and out in the fresh air,” Comments awards’ co-founder and Toyologist Peter Jenkinson. “Our bank of mini play gurus will put the toys through their paces far better than us grown-ups can and we’ll really find out what makes them want to ditch the TV and tablets for some more active play in the great outdoors this summer. Having Beau on board is a real coup – not only will he lead the final judging day in June, but he’ll also be involved in deciding the shortlist:  he can’t wait to get his hands on all the entries and he’ll be charting his involvement through his various social media channels and YouTube too.”

Playtime PR’s Lesley Singleton adds, “What’s really exciting here for brands AND retailers is that the Awards will effectively reveal the ultimate shopping list for the summer holidays – ten key outdoor toys as judged by the very people who have a whole lot of playtime to fill in the school holidays! The categories have been designed to ensure we cover all angles of outdoor play style, with Nature & Science even allowing us to look at products which bring the outdoors in and perhaps offer a rainy-day outdoor-themed play solution. We were also keen to ensure the categories cover toys for all ages, from baby and preschool right through to teen.”

A shortlist of five products per category will be taken forward to the final judging day in June and the ten winning outdoor toys will be revealed shortly afterwards. A video showcasing the judging process and winning toys will be released on social media.
