– Toyology and Playtime PR team up with panel of pint-sized play experts to seek out the very best toys to get kids outside this summer –
The Outdoor Playtime Awards 2015 are now open for entry. The Awards will see ten toys crowned the absolute must-haves for this summer and will be judged by a select panel of toyminators in June, headed up by YouTube sensation, Beau of Beau’s Toy Farm. The ten winning toys will be revealed ahead of the school summer holidays.
One winner in each of the specially created categories will make it onto the must-have list of ten products to guarantee an action-packed summer of outdoor playtime fun. The categories are:
|· Climbing & Adventure
· Sport & Splash Fun
· Outdoor ‘Board’ Games
· Outdoor Tech Toys
· Preschool Outdoor Play
· Battle & Blaster Toys
· Houses, Tents & Hideaways
· Nature & Science
“These are the only awards dedicated purely to applauding the toys which get our kids up and out in the fresh air,” Comments awards’ co-founder and Toyologist Peter Jenkinson. “Our bank of mini play gurus will put the toys through their paces far better than us grown-ups can and we’ll really find out what makes them want to ditch the TV and tablets for some more active play in the great outdoors this summer. Having Beau on board is a real coup – not only will he lead the final judging day in June, but he’ll also be involved in deciding the shortlist: he can’t wait to get his hands on all the entries and he’ll be charting his involvement through his various social media channels and YouTube too.”
Playtime PR’s Lesley Singleton adds, “What’s really exciting here for brands AND retailers is that the Awards will effectively reveal the ultimate shopping list for the summer holidays – ten key outdoor toys as judged by the very people who have a whole lot of playtime to fill in the school holidays! The categories have been designed to ensure we cover all angles of outdoor play style, with Nature & Science even allowing us to look at products which bring the outdoors in and perhaps offer a rainy-day outdoor-themed play solution. We were also keen to ensure the categories cover toys for all ages, from baby and preschool right through to teen.”
A shortlist of five products per category will be taken forward to the final judging day in June and the ten winning outdoor toys will be revealed shortly afterwards. A video showcasing the judging process and winning toys will be released on social media.
