Dragons’ Den duo team up to offer bar-goers a beefy new trivia experience

– Linkee and Texas Joe join forces for punters to get a taste of what the BBC Dragons missed out on –

Proving that they don’t need a BBC Dragon to succeed, two brands which appeared on this year’s Dragons’ Den have teamed up to offer UK bar-goers an “as seen on Dragons’ Den”-style experience. Lucky punters at the BrewDog chain of bars can now play Linkee, the world’s first crowd-sourced trivia game (Episode 3), whilst tucking into some Texas Joe, a tasty new lean, mean Beef Jerky brand (Episode 2).

Since appearing on the show, the two new companies have gone from strength-to-strength: Linkee sold out straight away and now has major retail listings nationwide with John Lewis, WH Smith, Hamleys, Lakeland and Waitrose, while Texas Joe has secured major listings with BrewDog bars and Sainsburys.

Linkee’s Dean Tempest, who rejected Duncan Bannatyne’s offer of £50k, said “When we watched the Texas Joe pitch we thought ‘Wow! That really sets the bar’. Like everybody else, we loved the brand, the product and Joe, so we got in touch to see if we could do something together. We thought it would be fun if there was a place where people could get their teeth into the ultimate combo: Texas Joe’s Lean & Mean Beef Jerky with a side order of Linkee. BrewDog bars were the perfect venue as Joe was already there so we saddled up and joined him.”

Texas Joe said “When the Linkee gang got in touch I was very excited about the opportunity to team up. I knew that the BrewDog customers love some great beer and a laugh over a game so it seemed a perfect fit to introduce Linkee to the bars. It’s been a real kick to see people playing the game and enjoying a bag of jerky and a pint. Linkee is such a social game that everyone in the bar ends up engaged. Team Linkee are now all honorary Jerky Rangers and they even asked me to write a Linkee to be included in the next edition! I am sure that Linkee will become a global phenomenon and I am honoured to be a part of it.”

Peckish bar-goers can now chew on Texas Joe Jerky and play Linkee in ten BrewDog bars across the UK. To find your nearest BrewDog visit www.brewdog.com. For further information about Texas Joe, visit www.texas-joe.com. To discover more about Linkee, visit www.playlinkee.com.

About Linkee:

Linkee is the world’s first crowd-sourced family quiz game, aiming to bring style, substance and shouty-outy-goodness to British homes in 2013. It spans generations and gets people of all ages and abilities playing together. It’s speedy, super simple to learn and board/bored-free – like nothing you’ve ever played before. Just open the box and Linkee is ready to play, with no complicated set-up or instructions. What’s more, it’s an ideal purchase for those with a sharp eye for slick design: Linkee looks the part and oozes impressiveness from the shop shelf. And the true genius about Linkee is that it’s anti-genius: this isn’t about who’s the cleverest, it’s about making connections and thinking fast.

Over a third of the questions are written by people who have actually played the game, so questions are topical, relevant and fun. Linkee creators are rewarded with ‘fame from their name in the game’ with their name and where they are from printed on their question card. So players can also put their heads together to create their own questions and visit www.playlinkee.com to submit them for the next edition.

About Linkee Ltd:

Linkee Ltd is a small independent game publisher based in London. It’s doing things differently and shaking up the games market with a unique, evolving attitude to play. Launched in September 2012 by a team of three friends who met at work (Dean Tempest 26, Tristan Hyatt-Williams 42, Ben Drummond 40), Linkee is their first publication.
